Georgian MPs Visit Portugal over Harm Reduction Issues

A group of Georgian lawmakers visited Portugal on September 10-14 to discuss harm reduction and drug policy issues.

The visit was organized by Georgian Harm Reduction Network and Open Society Georgia Foundation. During the five-day visit, Georgian MPs familiarized themselves with the mechanisms of implementing and financing harm reduction programs; studied drug policy and drug decriminalization strategies, as well as mechanisms for providing harm reduction services. As an important part of the meetings, Georgian lawmakers familiarized themselves with the government’s contribution to managing, financing and implementing harm reduction programs.
