Open Society Foundation endorses new rule for grant application registration

14 Jan, 2019

From January 22, 2019, Open Society Georgia Foundation (OSGF) will start receiving online grant applications.

According to the new rule, online applications should be filled out and submitted through the Apply section of the Foundation’s website.

A grant application form consists of six sections, providing complete and comprehensive information about a project and profiling an applicant. The fields of a grant application are limited to a certain number of words and characters.

Under the new rule, the Foundation chooses direct contact with references rather than recommendations provided in a written form attached to the project. The recommendation should refer to both a project and an applicant.

Action plan and budget remain integral parts of the application. The samples of the both documents are attached to an online application form and they can be downloaded, filled out and uploaded in the process of working on the application. The names of activities provided in the action plan and an excel file of the budget should be adjusted according to project needs.

While filling out an online application, an applicant can:
• Preview, recheck and print out an application before registration;
• Save partially filled out document and assume filling out process later;
• The link of the saved online application, redirecting an applicant to an online application form, will be sent to an email address indicated by an applicant.

Once the application is submitted, an applicant will receive a notification e-mail upon registration of the application, as well as a registration number and a link, redirecting him/her to the application registered in a PDF format. The action plan and the budget are not attached to the link because these documents should have been submitted by applicants themselves and it is deemed that the applicant keeps them on the device.

Only fully filled out and complete proposals are considered and reviewed by the Expert’s Committee. Final decision on project funding is made by the Executive Board.

A graphic video instruction will help applicants fill out an online application form.
