Justice International

Justice International (JI) is an independent, non-partisan, non-governmental organization (NGO), established in 2016, with an aim to support International Criminal Court (ICC) investigations and civil society engagement in them.

Since the beginning of ICC investigation into Georgia’s situation, JI has been acting as Georgian civil society focal point at the Court. JI is a member of Georgian and international Coalitions for the ICC and is actively engaged in their activities.

JI aims to promote the administration of justice and to fight impunity of perpetrators of serious human rights violations, including crimes of international law. Our efforts mainly focus on coordination of activities of Georgian Coalition for the ICC, as well as on facilitation of communication between different sections of the Court and victims’ groups, and on leading international advocacy efforts to support victims of armed conflicts and effective implementation of the ICC’s mandate.

Main areas of work include: international armed conflicts, transitional justice, legal aid, International Criminal Court (ICC) investigations, independent investigation of grave crimes, victim representation, reparations.

Main activities: documentation of human rights conditions, international advocacy, monitoring socio-economic developments and security conditions in conflict areas, risk assessment, facilitation of communication between different sections of the ICC and local civil society, awareness raising and trainings.
